Berroco Fall 2007 Pattern Books

For Fall 2007, Berroco continues to lead the way in innovative garment designs, reflecting classic features with soft, easy shapes which wrap around the body giving a feeling of luxury, softness and warmth.

Marjorie Winter, Creative Director of Berroco along with Nora Gaughan, Design Director, have created a unique and dynamic focus for Berroco through their extensive pattern collection which we feel reflects the varied tastes and body shapes of the Village Yarns customer.

We have in stock five new Berroco Books for Fall 2007. Two of these books feature Berroco Jasper and Peruvia, new yarns recently introduced at Village Yarns. Come test knit with our sample skeins and give us your feedback. Your opinion matters to us.

Berroco Fall 2007 Pattern Books

Peruvia #264: This book introduces Berroco's Peruvian Highland Wool - Peruvia. Available in 22 heathers and 3 solid shades, this yarn is ideal for felting as well as regular knitting.

The pattern focus is on line and symmetry.

Plenty of texture and travelling stitches create interesting garments to knit.

Peruvia™
NEW for Fall/Winter '07/'08
100% Peruvian Highland Wool
174 yds / 160 m
GAUGE: 4.25 sts = 1"
17 sts & 22 rows = 4" (10cm)
NEEDLE SIZE: 10 (US) / 6 mm

"Peruvia is the perfect felting yarn and while not a butter soft merino, I love the way this yarn knits up. Definitely a wool for when the temperature drops. Cottagers would appreciate it's warmth with our cool Ontario evenings. Peruvia knits up fast, and although recommended to be knit on a 6mm for the soft shaping of some of the featured designs, I achieved a Worsted Weight gauge of 20 stitches using 4.5mm needles." - Patrick Madden, Village Yarns.

Everything Felted #265: The focus is felt. Designs feature accessories knit using new yarns Peruvia and Jasper.

Jasper #266: Contemporary designs with new twists on garment construction show the beautiful colours in this super soft Merino.

A focus on volume, with a looser silhouette. Cozy, attractive, colourful knitwear.

Interesting colour striping, intriguing garment construction and shapes. Best suited to a simple knitting technique like Stocking Stitch. Generous yet not overwhelming proportions give this wrap coat flair and finesse.

Norah Gaughan and her team continue to have fun with mitred shapes worked into garments.

Jasper™

100% Fine Merino Wool
98 yds / 90 m
GAUGE: 4.5 sts = 1"
18 sts & 22 rows = 4" (10 cm)
